I just visited Bretagne to visit my boyfriend’s family for the first time and fell in love (especially with galettes!) - adding Portrait of a Lady On Fire to my To Watch list!!
Bretagne and galettes plus meeting the family is such a perfect first visit. Hope you love Portrait of a Lady on Fire, it pairs perfectly with that mood :)
We have a similar word in Flemish (or Dutch) like flâner. We say "flaneren" and it's the same thing and you're so right that stroll doesn't quite capture the same idea.
Flaner! I love that--definitely my philosophy when travelling for sure, and enjoying free time in general. Thanks for taking me to France while I had my breakfast :)
I hadn't heard of that novel, I just added it to my TBR list!
And I loveee that word " Flâner". This isn't the first time I've heard it, but it makes me immensely happy to think about the concept, and even happier to actually go about doing it!

Oooh I love this series!
Thank you! Really enjoyed putting this one together :)

Love that flaneren has the same untranslatable magic in Flemish. Some words just don't have an English equivalent for a reason :)

Flâner is the best travel philosophy! So glad I could bring a little France to breakfast :)
They sell that sunscreen in the UK as well and I've heard raving reviews. I need to grab some.
It's so worth it, the no-white-cast thing alone makes it a winner :)
Can’t wait to try that recipe. Just need to find out what buckwheat is called in Spanish. Looks sooo delicious!
It's so good! And buckwheat in Spanish is 'trigo sarraceno', happy hunting :)
Thank you, Olivia!

The novel is such a fun summer read, and flâner is one of those words that becomes a whole philosophy once you let it. Go do it :)
